Read today's cardHow to ask the cards a question
Tarot answers the question you actually ask, so it pays to phrase it with care. Open questions about what you can do work better than questions about what other people will do or what will happen on a given date.
Write the question down or say it out loud, take a breath and then draw. Read the card before you read the meaning: what do you notice first in the picture? That first impression is often the most useful part of the reading.
- Ask about one thing at a time.
- Ask "What can I do about…" instead of "Will he…".
- For a yes or no question, keep it short and concrete.
- If the answer surprises you, ask what it is pointing at rather than drawing until you like it.

Frequently asked questions
Is this tarot reading really free?
Yes. Drawing cards and reading their meanings costs nothing, and you can draw as often as you like. Only the personal written interpretation of your cards and question is paid, and its price is shown on the button before you choose it.
Do I need to sign up or give my email?
No. Every free reading works without sign-up, a password or an email address. You can draw, read the meanings and draw again as often as you like. We ask for an email only if you order a personal interpretation, so we can send you a copy of the text. Nothing else is required.
How do I do a tarot reading online?
Pick a spread, think of a clear question and press the draw button. Then choose your cards and read the meaning of each one in its position. For a quick decision use yes or no, for a broader picture use three cards.
Are free tarot readings accurate?
Tarot does not predict events, so no reading, free or paid, can promise accuracy. It works best as a way to look at a situation from another side and notice what you already feel. Use the cards for reflection, not as the only reason for an important decision.
Can I draw more than once for the same question?
You can, and there is no limit. Many readers still take the first card seriously, because drawing again until the answer feels right tends to show what you hope for rather than what is going on. If you want a fresh look, change the question or come back once the situation has moved.
How is a personal interpretation different from the free meaning?
The free meaning describes each card in general terms, the same for everyone who draws it. A personal interpretation reads all of your cards together, in their positions, against the question you wrote. It runs 600 to 900 words, suggests concrete next steps, and is a one-time payment with no subscription.
How this page was made
The meanings on this page are short summaries of our own card articles, which draw on the classic Rider-Waite-Smith tradition.
- Arthur Edward Waite, The Pictorial Key to the Tarot (1911), the guide written for the Rider-Waite-Smith deck.
- The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn's correspondences for the suits and Major Arcana, the basis of most modern readings.
- Our 78 card articles with upright, reversed, love, career and yes or no sections, written and reviewed by the MyTarotAdvisor team.
- Yes, no and maybe verdicts come from the yes or no section of each card article and are the same in every language.
